Site #2 - The Overlook Pavilion
The overlook pavilion presents significant problems as the location of a visitor center, as will be explored. Nonetheless, the Grant Monument Association has developed two conceptual architectural studies to show how such a visitor might be constructed to include such essential features as updated restrooms, a gallery, a retail sales area, exhibit areas, an audio-visual presentation area, and administrative offices and support space. Every effort has been made to maintain and enhance the beauty of the existing architectural style, including incorporation of a viewing terrace that affords an impressive view of the Hudson River. |
